LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - An Eagle Soars
LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - Tucked behind St. Columban’s Parish Office, you can find sanctuary from the hustle of everyday life. Recently, this overlooked natural haven underwent a makeover by Jimmy Turner, a St. Columban graduate and Loveland High School student who earned his Eagle Scout by restoring this portion of the property.
A member of Kings Mills Boy Scout Troop 617, Jimmy spent four months on the trail. He personally logged over 60 hours of work by planning, clearing debris, repairing trash can receptacles, and building and hanging eight new birdhouses. Jimmy, his fellow scouts, family and friends accumulated a total of 121 work hours renovating this once neglected habitat.
Jimmy’s attachment to the School and Church led him to choose this site for his Eagle Scout project. Although obtaining the highest ranking was very demanding, he encourages all Boy Scouts to strive for this goal stating that “the feeling of accomplishment is well worth it.”
Jimmy is now an approved leader within his troop, and is inspiring his fellow Scouts to reach their personal goals as he aspires to achieve his next objective – studying Mechanical Engineering in college.
Thanks again, Jimmy, for your dedication and contribution to bettering our community. It is greatly appreciated, and your Eagle Scout ranking is well deserved!
