The Tigers have been playing very well over the last several games. The offensive sets are run around Bobby Capobianco, Brian Wozniak, Chris Stahl and Ryan Cobb. (all seniors this year) The Tigers started out against Fairfield, who I believe should have lost that game. Where as Princeton was a totally different story. Princeton usually shoots fair from the field. (please review the favcsports.com and look at the margin of victories that Princeton has had against other high school teams). Princeton that night was hitting on all pistons. 3 pointers, jump shoots, free throws, in the paint. Just too much firepower for the Tigers. Bobby Capobianco was just back from injury and it was tough for the Tigers go to guy.
Since that 40-point loss, the Tigers have found their basketball groove and have gone on a 6 game winning streak. The players: Bobby Capobianco is in third place in the FAVC offensive leaders with 15.8 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. Brian Wozniak is in third place with assists at 3.3 per game and 2.3 steals per game. Both players play with confidence on the court. I am a believer in confidence in shoot selection, basketball IQ and ball movement.
Chris Stahl has really come alive for the Tigers. The confidence in his shoots and passing has added to the overall success. The highlight of the Loveland Vs. Turpin game was a fast break dunk that had the team bench going wild. Chris is a high honor roll student with a 4.9 GPA. I think that he will be the 2009 class valedictorian this year.
Wesley Kyles is the only sophomore on the varsity basketball team. Wesley has been an asset to the team with his basketball IQ, dribbling under pressure, leadership and defense. Wesley shoots 300 baskets per day at 6:15 AM each morning. Wesley is plays the guard position. He share point guard responsibilities with Brian Wozniak.

At the time of this writing, the Tigers are getting ready to play Winton Woods, this Friday at Winton Woods. Winton Woods has been on a losing streak, with 3 losses in overtime. Loveland has, in my opinion a championship team if the guys play fundamental aggressive basketball.

The Loveland Tigers Junior Varsity hosted the Harrison Wildcats on Friday night January 2, coming away with a 20 point win over Harrison. From the Tip off, the Tigers controlled the ball on offense and continued their strong defensive rebounding. Leading the scoring was Andrew Claybourn with 19 points, Austin Stahl with 17 points, Greg Pittman with 8 points, Ryan Frazier with 6 points, Zach Elias with 4 points, and Nick Hoffman and David Moran with 3 points each. The final score was Loveland 62 Harrison 42.
Freshman 62 Harrison 42

The Loveland Tigers Freshman boys basketball team returned to their home court for the first time in 5 games Friday to host FAVC Buckeye division rival Harrison and won convincingly 44-14.
The Tigers took control early racing out to a 9-0 lead behind Anthony LaMacchia's 7, first quarter points. In the second quarter a couple of quick baskets by Harrison cut the lead to 4 before Loveland got going again to take a 19-8 lead into the half. At the beginning of the second half, the Tigers quickly put the game away out-scoring the Wildcats 16-2 behind Caleb Cloud's 8 third quarter points.
Loveland scoring was led by Anthony LaMacchia with 12 points, Joe Moran with 9, Caleb Cloud with 8, Jordan McNally with 5, and Ryan Altman, Eric Bryant, Jake DeGrace, Jacob Meyer and Sam Timmerman each with 2.
With the win Loveland improved to 2-1 in their division, 3-4 overall.
