LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - JANE CAN'T MIND HER OWN BUZZINESS

The_buzz_1                Jane_rockwell_8

LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - by Jane Rockwell

As you may have noticed, there is a new business in town.  Or should I say "buzziness".

The Buzz Thru Espresso Bar is an authentic meeting place.  The old time community watering hole is an apt comparison, only at The Buzz you will find more than water.  "Fair trade" coffees of all kinds - from complicated and exotic to just plain and delicious, teas and fruit smoothies are on the menu. Although the menu is extensive, if you don’t see what you want or just can’t decide, just describe what you like and a drink will be created especially for you. To go with your beverage you can have a sugary twirl of a cruller, a Danish, a muffin, or a classic glazed raised doughnut etc. all from Bonnie Lynn Bakery.  A variety of coffees are for sale by the bag.Buzz_chess_4

Bruce Wolff and Mary Jane Letaw are the owner-operators of this enterprise.   They have remodeled the space to reflect their eclectic and varied interests. Seating is comfortable. Bruce’s collection of records (yes, real round flat spinning things with groves that make music) plays in the background.  Books are for reading and fill one corner.  Wonderful old magazine covers seem to be creeping across the wall like literary ivy.  A wild and whimsical chess set is available if you are so inclined.  Carefully chosen artwork hangs beneath the hand-written menu chalkboards. And you NASCAR fans, check out that "Buzz" stock car out front and then ask Bruce about it.

Literary_ivy_1Bruce and Mary Jane are already considering teaming up with the Arts Council for an art show this holiday season and the potential for poetry readings is being discussed as well.   The Hungry Holler Bluegrass Band is scheduled to provide live music on the first Friday of each month in the evenings 7-10P.M.. The acoustic band Thinking TOO Much will be in concert for hurricane relief on Friday September 23 at 7:30 P.M.

The Buzz is open from 5:30A.M. thru 10:30P.M. They have a "Buzz Thru" window so you can drive up, order and be served right from your car. They are located at 807A Loveland-Madeira Road, right opposite to McDonald’s and next to the Movie Gallery.

This place is hand-made and heartfelt.   Anyone who stops in cannot help but feel the warmth and vitality.  It is a personal place in the era of manufactured, mass produced "charm".  I bet anyone who goes there will be trying to figure out a reason to just hang around a bit longer.   I know I did.
