The Living Nativity

Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7: 4:30-7:30 PM

Nat-2 LOVELAND, OHIO – The Loveland United Methodist Church invites you, along with your friends and family, to join them for their 7th annual production of "The Living Nativity" – a presentation through drama and song of the account of the birth of Jesus Christ, according to the gospels of Luke and Matthew.

When you arrive you will be received by Roman Guards who are at their station making sure all that arrive to Bethlehem do so in an orderly and safe fashion. Pat Blankenship said, “They will direct you to a warm, welcomed greeting by our townspeople who will introduce you to your tour guide, Luke.”

As you begin your walking tour, you will witness the following events along the way:

  •  Caesar Augustus Issuing a Decree that a Census Be Taken
  •  The Roman Guards Stationed at the City Gates
  •  The Census Taker
  •  The Angel’s Promise of the Birth of John the Baptist  to Zechariah in the Temple
  •  Angel Gabriel’s Promise of the Birth of Jesus to Mary
  •  An Encounter with the Townspeople at the Baker's Home - Delicious Samples!
  •  An Angel’s Appearance to Joseph
  •  Mary’s Visit with ElizabethNat-church
  •  An Encounter with some of the Townspeople
  •  The Market Place Bustling with Music and Dancing
  •  Mary and Joseph's Arrival at The Bethlehem Inn
  •  Prophecies are Recalled of Jesus' Birth
  •  An Angel and the Heavenly Host Appear to the Shepherds
  •  The Living Nativity
  • The Live Animals  - There will be time to visit with the animals!
  •  The 3 Wise Men at Herod's Palace

Following your tour, there will be plenty of hot chocolate and Christmas cookies ready for your enjoyment.

The Living Nativity Walking Tour takes place outside in the lower level parking lot of Loveland United Methodist Church, so Blankenship recommends that you, “Please dress warmly.”

On Saturday evening, sign language (PSE - Pidgin Sign English) interpretation will be available on the tour, if requested.

“We look forward to sharing the Good News with you and, as your brothers and sisters in Christ, ask that you please lift us up in prayer as we all serve together to touch hearts and change lives all in His name,” said Blankenship

“All this, and there’s no admission fee. This is our Christmas gift to you.”

“The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church”

A native of northern Michigan, he now lives with his wife and two daughters in Loveland, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN — “The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church” is the theme of an Evangelization and Catechesis Conference planned by the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at Youngstown State University Kilcawley Center.

Dr. Edward P. Hahnenberg, assistant professor in the Department of Theology, Xavier University, will present the keynote address on “The Word of God in a Consumer Culture: Evangelization and Catechesis Today.”

He is the author of two books — “Ministries: A Relational Approach” and “A Concise Guide to the Documents of Vatican II” along with numerous articles in academic and pastoral journals.

Thursday, March 20th 7 PM
Please join us this Maundy Thursday (3/20) for a presentation of "A Tableau of The Last Supper" featuring the Mt. Airy UMC Men and Rev. Doug Ervin, Pastor of Marbly UMC.  Special music is being provided by the Loveland UMC Choir.  Holy Communion will be celebrated following the "Tableau". This worship service will be held at 7 pm @ Loveland United Methodist Church located at 10975 South Lebanon Rd, Loveland, OH. {683-1738}. In addition to members from Marbly, Mt. Airy, and Loveland UMC will be members from Loveland's partner church, Deerfield UMC. As we come together for this special night of worship, we invite you to join us.  Childcare will be available.

LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - Palm Sunday, “Prayer Cross Walk”

LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - You are invited to join the Loveland Ministerial Association for a time of prayer as several local churches unite for a time of prayer on Palm Sunday, March 16 at 4PM.

The community is invited to gather at Prince of Peace Church (101 S. Lebanon Road) or New Hope Baptist Church (1401 Loveland-Madeira Road) at 4 PM and take part in this “prayer cross walk.” Both groups will be walking, carrying a cross, and praying at designated stops along the way as they lift up prayers for the community of Loveland and the “world to the Lord.”

Transportation will be provided for those unable to walk the route, and opportunities to get out of the vans and pray with the group at the designated stops will be made available. Members of Northstar Vineyard, Loveland United Methodist, Prince of Peace, and New Hope Baptist churches will unite at the corner of West Loveland and Loveland Madeira Road, and then journey together to downtown Loveland. There will then be a time of worship at 5 PM in downtown Loveland near the bike trail. Transportation will be provided for those unable to walk back to the starting points.

LOVELAND, OHIO NEWS - Receive it. Believe it. Live it. Share it. You are welcome to hear one of the most acclaimed Catholic Musicians share his music, faith and stories. Jesse Manibusan has an MA in Multicultural Ministries from the Franciscan School of Theology, in Berkeley, California. He is well recognized at national and international events, such as the LA Congress, the National Catholic Youth Conference, the European Catholic Youth Conference, Encuentro 2000, and various World Youth Day events, Diocesan events, and Parish Missions. In 2002, Jesse was commissioned to write the theme song for LA Congress. “Bearer of Hope” is a trilingual song in Spanish, English and Vietnamese. He is also co-founder of Two by Two Ministries, an international music and preaching ministry.

People of all ages will enjoy this wonderful evening. However, there is a warning: May be fun and cause deepening of faith!

There is a suggested freewill donation of $5.00 per person at the concert and there will be no pre-assigned seating. MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OHIO NEWS – If you are snowed in on Sunday or your church has taken a snow day, here are two recent sermons from Rev. Dr. Doug Damron. Damron is the Senior Pastor at the Epiphany United Methodist Church at 6635 Loveland-Miamiville Road. Epiphany itself has canceled its 9 AM service tomorrow, however they will gather for a combined service at 10:30 AM.

Damron Pastor Doug Damron was born and raised in Amherst, Ohio near Cleveland. He and his wife Kimberly have been married for ten years. They have two children Wesley and Clayton. Doug is a graduate of Kent State University, Asbury Theological Seminary, and received his doctorate at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. “The Persuasive Power of Humor in Preaching” is the topic of his dissertation. Doug served two churches before being appointed Senior Pastor of Epiphany United Methodist Church in January of 2003.  Hobbies include reading, fantasy baseball managing, running and weightlifting, tail gating with friends, and Cleveland Indians baseball.

This Sunday, Damron's fifth message of the Lenten season will be “I’m Giving Up Debt.” If you turn your clocks ahead tonight, you will make the 10:30 AM service.
