A Grailville Weekly Workshop For Girls Who Love to Write
The Grailville Retreat and Program Center invites teen girls to join a weekly workshop. Beth Murphy said, "That encourages their passion for writing and inspires and challenges them to write their hearts out."
Writing for the Love of It: A Weekly Workshop For Girls Who Love to Write will be held Thursday afternoons, March 3-31, from 4-5:30 pm. Activities include:
Looking together at work in a variety of genres writing time both with prompts offered and the option of free-writing; sharing writing with each other and gentle, constructive suggestions for individual girls to use in revising their pieces, if they so desire.
Mothers and other women will be invited to participate as “audience” in the final session on March 31.Tuition is $75 for the five week series
The series is led by Pauletta Hansel, MFA. Murphy said, "Hansel is a published author with a passion for writing and leading writing circles, especially for women who love to write." She has facilitated programs for Waldorf School, North Avondale and Clark Montessori Schools, Urban Appalachian Council, Finneytown Schools and many other organizations. At Grailville she leads a Practice of Poetry Series for Women and co-leads the Rites of Passage Program, "Helping girls make a positive, healthy, self-aware and self-sufficient transition into young adulthood, "said Murphy.
