On Saturday, Loveland played host to the visiting Kings Knights for the final volleyball match of the inaugural Eastern Cincinnati Conference season. Winner of the match would determine the Eastern Cincinnati Conference title.
This game was also a fundraiser by both volleyball programs for Becca Kniskern, a beautiful 6 year old girl fighting a battle with Luekemia. Becca was in attendance and was all smiles during her introduction as she looked into the packed house of yellow tee shirts with the slogan “Becca’s Believers, We’re Playing for a cure”.
The Loveland Lady Tigers came out firing on all ends of the court and beat Kings in 3 straight games (25-21. 25-23, 25-13) to capture the ECC title. The final point was the senior combination of Kayla Senters passing to Lauren Blumberg who set Lindsay Flaherty for the kill. A fitting end to a wonderful conference season of Loveland Volleyball.
Congratulations to Seniors, Lindsay Flaherty, Christy Flaherty, Lauren Blumberg, Kayla Senters, Maddie Whitaker, Erin Mautino, Juniors Sidney Thomas, Rachel Griswold, Allison Kluge, Carly Beckstedt and Sophomores Sarah Marlatt, Jessie Blumberg and Paige DeWitt.
The next stop is the state tournament which begins at Withrow High School on Saturday October 20th at 6:30pm. The Lady Tigers will play the winner of the Oak Hills/Turpin game on Wednesday.
Good Luck Lady Tigers – Your parents are so proud of you! GO TIGERS!
