The Loveland District just released this statement about the bomb threat to the Loveland Middle School:
Update: Safety Concern
After an extensive search of both Loveland Middle School (LMS) and Loveland Intermediate School (LIS) with specially trained K-9 units, the Loveland City Police Department has indicated both buildings are safe for students to enter.
For today, all remaining LMS and LIS students who were transported to Loveland Elementary School (LES) and Loveland Primary School (LPS) will eat lunch at those buildings and then finish the remainder of their day at those buildings – they will not be transported back to LMS or LIS.
In addition, all activities set to take place at LIS and LMS this evening, including the parent-teacher conferences and the band concert, are cancelled. Those will be rescheduled.
The evacuation occurred around 7 a.m. after a district administrator received an email indicating a bomb threat for LMS. The decision was immediately made to transport all LMS and LIS students to LES and LPS, and to evacuate staff, to ensure the safety of all. All other buildings operated as usual.
We want all of our Tiger Family to rest assured that safety for all is at the forefront of each decision made by the administration. We appreciate your continued patience with us as we work to communicate with you in a timely and accurate manner.
We thank the Loveland City Police Department for the swift and thorough action they took in this situation. They will handle the complete investigation.
