Centre Alley, Loveland, Oh. - Loveland is a quiet tranquil town, a bedroom community, a resort nestled upon the beautiful Little Miami Scenic River. But is there another side to this idyllic setting? Do strange creatures roam neighborhood streets at night leaving curious signs of their presence?
The elusive Loveland Frog (known to some as the Loveland Lizard) has evaded detection for over 40 years. Perhaps due to an unpleasant run in with the law that ended in some gun fire in 1972. But recently, in “Historic West Loveland” some bizarre frog like traces have been showing up.
After much pondering of what the signs could mean, the residents naturally decided to have a party because as one resident who wishes to remain anonymous said, “What amphibious anomaly doesn’t enjoy a good shin dig.” Also, the residents hoped that the frog of legend might attend. Thus, the residents gathered on Centre Alley to celebrate the Loveland Frog eagerly waiting to see if he/she or it might make an appearance.
The next day the words "Let's Party" were added.
Background
Word spread quickly among residents of the Historic West Loveland District, when mysterious signs started appearing in Centre Alley on Saturday, September 14. Then the next day, a sunny and warm, Sunday, September 15, yet more signs materialized. As word spread, residents gathered, one by one, to ponder what it all meant.
Was it? Was it written by a frog too frightened to be seen in public since that fateful gloomy night in 1972 when shot at by police officers?
Soon a possible meaning percolated and surfaced among the speculation. It might be a challenge to party. And if they sang, danced, and provided merriment for children, the frog of legend might attend?
The anonymous source said there was further muse. “Hmm, would we be able to recognize a frog dressed for Halloween?”
"Hmm... What would a frog wear to a Halloween Ball?"
Loveland Magazine Launches Investigation
Loveland Magazine TV Studios turned its Fiat into a portable drive-inn theater and parked in Centre Alley on October 26, the night of the Legendary Loveland Frog Ball, under the pretense of showing on the big HD screen the Legend of the Loveland Frogmen, the 2010 docudrama produced by Loveland residents, Gretchen and Bob Kessler. The father and daughter duo produced the full length feature about the most recent purported siting of frog like creatures at the Loveland Castle.
Our own cameras were rolling.
Conclusions
Many are now convinced that the Loveland Frog has lived among us for decades, and perhaps descendants as well; disguised as cross-dressing humans, and may indeed have attended the Legendary Frog Ball.
The answer to one of the burning questions, "What would a frog wear to a Halloween party?" may have been answered, however, we could not find convincing proof.
