School Board members will be sworn in on January 7
Phelps for council and Pettit for school board win re-counts
Loveland, Oh. - Ted Phelps took the oath of office on Tuesday night becoming Loveland's newest member of city council.
After the boards of election of Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren counties, counted, added provisional ballots, and re-counted, Phelps was declared the final winner over Brenton Zuch. On election night, November 5, Phleps led incumbent, Zuch by 8 votes, and his swearing in was delayed until the final results were officially certified by the boards.The final results confirmed an 8 vote win by Phelps.
Other winners, incumbents Linda Cox, Rob Weisgerber, and new candidate Pam Gross previously took their oath of office on December 2.
Linda Cox, was elected by council to be the next Loveland mayor. Mark Fitzgerald was elected vice-mayor.
Current members of city council are: Mayor Linda Cox, Vice Mayor Mark Fitzgerald, Pam Gross, Paulette Leeper, Ted Phelps, Angie Settell, and Rob Weisgerber.
Board of Education Results
Also, after counting, adding provisional ballots, and a re-count, the boards certified final results for the Loveland Board of Education race. On election night, on her first try at elected office, Michelle Pettit held a 13 vote lead over incumbent, Katie Bontrager. In the final results, Pettit increased her lead to a 20 vote victory margin.
The newley elected members of the school board, David Blumberg, Michele Pettit, and incumbent, Linda Pennington will take their oath of office on January 7.
Members of the Loveland School Board will be: David Blumberg, Art Jarvis, Kathryn Lorenz, Michele Pettit, and Linda Pennington. A president and vice-president will be elected at their organizational meeting on January 7.
