LHS Robotics Team captures top spot in regional competition, advancing to next round
Loveland, Oh. - The Loveland High School (LHS) Robotic Team (Team 5040 Loveland Nuts and Bolts) beat 23 other teams to earn the championship title at the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) regional competition January 18-19 at St. Xavier High School.
“Anytime you have a group of students who put forth a great amount of effort and time into something like this robotics competition, it is nice to see them achieve some recognition and success,” said Phil Marchal, LHS computer programming/web design teacher. “I was very proud of what they accomplished.”
“This really speaks to the strength of our course offerings that encompass the areas of science, technology, engineering and math – as this team incorporates all of those areas into their projects,” said Chris Kloesz, LHS principal. “I’m thrilled our high school has the ability to challenge these students in this capacity, and am excited they were able to perform at such a high level. This team is a perfect example of the creative, critical thinkers we are working to develop.”
The team advances to the next round of competition to take place in mid-February.
